Our Manager
Kelly Sharp joined Friends of Children in July of 2009. The long-time Prince George resident is the voice at the other end of the phone when the mom, dad, grandparent or social worker calls seeking support for a Northern BC or East Kootenay child in medical need. Sharp is very aware of the valuable service Friends of Children has provided families for over a decade.
“It’s pretty staggering to look through the three huge filing cabinets in our office filled with file folders on children’s medical challenges,” says Friends of Children manager Kelly Sharp. “Each folder tells a story on how Friends of Children helped the family.”
Sharp adds donations are vital to the support Friends of Children can provide families with children in medical need.
“I write the cheques so I know the donated funds are going directly in the hands of the caregiver, whether to help with travel, food or accommodation expenses related to their child’s medical condition. But the sum of all the parts is relieving stress on the family which is priceless.”
